DB8X LCR Full Range Slim Speaker
Designed with the same slim cabinet and same profile as the DB10, the DB10 SUB allows the sound designer to build a “Wall” of front cinema speakers. Featuring two 200×200 VESA mounting points, the subwoofer can be installed vertically and horizontally, both behind screen and further within the room. A heavy duty, hand built 10” Sub bass driver with a high linear excursion features a double stacked magnet system. The driver is an improved version of a design once used in a famous studio range of British active subwoofers. This driver along with the transmission line low noise flared port results in an efficient, high SPL design with a response down to low 20Hz region.
Driver Design
The DB8X uses a Hi-End British built 8” single point source drive unit with a large symmetrical field magnet. Dual rear suspension and critically doped surround results in low colouration and linearity. The tweeter has a 28mm voice coil and Neodymium magnet for increase power handling. A foam disc behind the tweeter flange minimises diffraction. The coaxial arrangement gives a wide, smooth off axis response regardless of orientation.
Acoustic Frame
Our acoustic frame is an optional add on to the DB8X. Constructed of an elegant anodised aluminium, the frame sits over the outside of the DB8X, resulting in a floating effect. The frame incorporates a groove and rubber grip, similar the that used in cinema fabric track. Spectre offers custom material finishes, or the installer can fit their own acoustic material to match the cinema room decor.
