Front LCR or FX channels
Compact Design
A very compact design with an 8″ single point source high output driver for vertical and horizontal wall mounting. The DB8 is the same depth and width as the other Spectre cinema speakers but only 290mm high. Ideal as the LCR’s in medium rooms for reference SPL levels or as rear FX channels in large rooms. It can be mounted in configuration with the DB10 Subwoofer behind or below the projection screen.
Point Source Driver
The DB8 uses a Hi-End British built 8″ single point source drive unit with a large symmetrical field magnet. Dual rear suspension and critically doped surround results in low colouration and linearity. The tweeter has a 28mm voice coil and Neodymium magnet for increase power handling. A foam disc behind the tweeter flange minimises diffraction. The coaxial arrangement gives a wide, smooth off axis response regardless of orientation.
At only 180mm deep the DB8 can be installed in a recess behind the projection screen or wall mounted using the 400×400 VESA mounting points. The braced cabinet has two flared ports and is finished in a fine textured matt black. Both the DB8 and DB10 SUB dimensions allow for various configurations and uniform system design. The DB8 can be installed upright with two DB10 SUB’s either side or horizontally above a vertical DB10 SUB. Two M8 mounting threads are also fitted either end of the DB8 to allow for a “U” bracket, for angled down ceiling mounting.
