JVC - World’s first home projector capable of inputting 8K60p/4K120p signals

The worlds first home theatre projectors that feature 8K/60p/4K120p input. They are equipped with a new 8K/e-shiftX proprietary technology to reproduce 8K quality images. The projectors are driven by three native 4K D-ILA devices in conjunction with the BLU-Escent laser diode, producing images close to reality. Compatible with the latest HDR10+, the projectors boast industry leading HDR performance. This technology coupled with multi element all glass lens with aluminium barrel produces an unrivalled cinematic projection experience.

JVC DLA-NP5W 4K Projector

The JVC DLA-NP5W D-ILA home theater projector features a 4K120p input to reproduce full 4K-resolution (4096 x 2160 pixels) images. 4K120p input also makes the projector ideal for gaming when combined with Low Latency mode. The projector is driven by three 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA devices, and 17-element, 15-group all glass lens with 65 mm diameter to project high-resolution images to every corner of the screen with a brightness as high as 1,900 lumens. Compatible with the latest HDR10+, HLG, and Frame Adapt HDR with Theater optimizer, the projector is designed to present industry leading HDR performance.

JVC What Hi-Fi 5 star Review on the NP5

JVC is awarded 5 Stars after reviewing our DLA-NP5 4K projector.

“The DLA-NP5 is JVC’s most affordable D-ILA projector for 2022 – and with JVC’s cheapest laser D-ILA models setting you back well into five figures, we have a funny feeling that interest in the lamp-based NP5 could be seriously high. Especially now that the ‘Covid years’ have given us all a whole new appreciation of the value of a high-quality home entertainment system.” JVC DLA-NP5, What Hi-Fi?, 07/2022

4K Native Resolution

Equipped with refined 0.69″ native 4K D-ILA device and newly developed digital driver LSI for native 4K resolution.

D-ILA projectors continue to evolve for the better. The latest three models feature an original native 0.69″ 4K D-ILA devices, which were first adopted on model DLA-Z1; this device has been improved with process refinements on planarization and reflection efficiency to achieve higher contrast and brightness. Additionally, a dedicated driver LSI was also enhanced to simultaneously drive each of the three (R/G/B) native 4K D-ILA devices at high-speed 120fps. As a result, precise and smooth image projection unique to 4K native can be achieved with the combination of a new device and new driver LSI.

High Dynamic Range (HDR)

Support for HDR (High Dynamic Range)

HDR (high dynamic range) content contains more data including an extended brightness range, 10-bit gradation and a wide BT.2020 colour gamut. For this reason, high basic performance is required for precise reproduction by the projector. With D-ILA projectors, HDR content are optimally reproduced with “high-brightness, high contrast, and wide gamut” to enjoy high quality HDR content as you’ve never experienced in the past. Moreover, in addition to HDR10 content, which is found on UHD Blu-ray Discs, the projector automatically detects the Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) signal, a technology used widely in broadcasting, allowing the user to view it in an optimum picture mode.

HDR10+ Compliant

The latest JVC NP5 is HDR10+ compliant, reproducing images as close to the creator’s intent as possible, creating an image like never seen before. The JVC NP5 also takes full advantage of JVC’s Frame Adapt HDR. This technology adds dynamic tone mapping to each scene.
